Six things you should do to age gracefully

How well you take care of your skin in your early twenties and thirties will determine how you look in your fifties. Well, if you want to age gracefully, there are a few habits you should cultivate, and here are some of them.

Drink more water

We have heard of the importance of drinking water over and over again. If you want to maintain that healthy glow in your fifties, you must try and drink at least eight glasses of water every day. Water helps keep your skin hydrated, and it also helps flush out the toxins out of your body.

Quit smoking

Smoking is bad for your health and even worse for your skin. It causes premature signs of ageing and speeds up the ageing process in relation to your skin. The chemicals found in cigarettes damage collagen, reduce the skin's elasticity and cause wrinkles to appear faster than usual.

Exfoliate

When it comes to your skincare routine, incorporating an exfoliant, whether physical or chemical, will help you get rid of dead skin cells, revealing new radiant skin. Chemical exfoliants such as glycolic acid are also known to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and acne.

Use retinoid

Retinoid, a derivative of vitamin A, is world-renowned for its anti-ageing effects. It increases collagen production in the body, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps with the development of new blood vessels in the skin, which helps promote healthy and radiant skin.

Always wear sunscreen

The harmful ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun can wreak havoc on your skin. They cause skin problems such as wrinkles, dark spots, and even skin cancer. In relation to ageing, the sun accelerates collagen degeneration, causing the skin to lose its elasticity. If you want to age gracefully, ensure that you wear sunscreen every day before going out.

Take Kollo collagen

Collagen production starts to decrease from the age of 25. To prevent early signs of ageing, start supplementing as soon as possible. Kollo premium liquid collagen is infused with vitamins B and C to aid in collagen production.
