Give your joints some love with Kollo liquid collagen

If your joints need a little extra support, consider taking Kollo marine collagen, a supplement that could contribute to healthy joints, skin, and hair.

You might have heard that collagen could refresh tired skin, help you get a better night’s sleep, or balance your gut health, but did you know that it may also keep joints supple?

Collagen is the protein that makes up our skin – it is its scaffolding and structure. After the age of 25, our natural collagen production reduces by 1.5% per year, such that after the age of 45, our collagen levels can fall by as much as 30%. That’s why, when taken daily for 4-6 weeks, a supplement like Kollo liquid collagen could boost natural collagen production – plus it has plenty of amino acids and added vitamins B & C to contribute to your overall wellbeing.

Is collagen good for joints?

One study had 73 athletes consume 10g of collagen daily for six months, all of whom experienced a significant decrease in joint pain when at rest and walking, compared to the control group who did not take the supplement. In a further study, participants took either 2g of collagen or a placebo for 70 days. Those who took collagen had a significant reduction in joint pain and were therefore better able to enjoy physical activity.

Collagen could also help with joint pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis (RA), an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the joints. American researchers found that giving a daily collagen supplement to sufferers of severe RA over a three-month period resulted in reduced joint pain and swelling, with four patients experiencing a complete remission of the condition.

Further studies have also shown that taking collagen supplements may produce effects in the body that mitigate or inhibit the bone breakdown that can lead to osteoporosis. An alternative study also showed that women who took collagen every day over the course of a year had a 7% increase in their bone mineral density.

So don’t forget to top up your Kollo today – our wonder product comes in handy sachets, so you can even contribute to your daily wellbeing even when on-the-go.
