Can Collagen have an impact on your mental health and well-being?

So, you’re probably wondering what collagen is and how it can impact your mental health as well as your physical health. Collagen has various roles when it comes to your body, including helping to provide structure to your skin. Collagen accounts for a third of your body’s protein composition, it really is a big thing! Various foods are high in collagen such as fish, chicken, egg whites, citrus fruits and garlic, and this is the most natural way of receiving collagen. However, you can also boost your collagen levels via supplements. Collagen is important due to its wide range of health benefits, some of which include minimising fine lines and wrinkles, helping to boost your mood and brain function, contributing towards a better night’s sleep and even alleviating pain from arthritis and symptoms from the menopause.

How does collagen impacts our mental health?

When it comes to collagen, about a third of it is built up of ‘glycine,' which is an amino acid that is key to brain health. Research shows that glycine can be linked with schizophrenia, and has been known to help and improve general psychiatric symptoms. As stated above, collagen also has a role to play in helping us achieve a better night’s sleep. Sleep and health come hand in hand and are very strongly linked - getting a bad night’s sleep can negatively impact our health while having bad health can negatively impact our sleep.

The benefits of Kollo

We offer a daily liquid collagen supplement called ‘Kollo’. Scientists agree that Kollo is a brilliant source of essential amino acids and is packed with vitamin B1, B5, B6, B12 & C to aid collagen production. B vitamins are essential for a healthy diet and can even help to relieve symptoms of alcohol abuse, depressed moods, schizophrenia and impairment. So yes, collagen really does have a role to play when it comes to helping our mental health.

Kollo only needs to be taken for 4-6 weeks to show results and could significantly benefit your overall health.

Your mental health is just as important as your physical health and it is important to take care of it as you would if you had physically hurt yourself. So why not try Kollo and see if it can help you?
