How to deal with stretch marks

Stretch marks are unsightly and can be frustrating, despite the fact that they are completely harmless. Stretch marks are purple or flesh-coloured marks that run along part of your body and commonly appear on your thighs or stomach.

In this article, we’ll look at a few treatments you can try to reduce the appearance of your stretch marks.

Collagen

If you're wondering, "Will collagen help loose skin?" the answer is YES! If you consume collagen, your skin will be more elastic and will have the ability to bounce back after being stretched more effectively, reducing the risk of stretch marks.

Consuming collagen is one of the best ways to keep your skin looking young, as it is a protein that is naturally lost later in life during menopause. Even if you already have stretch marks, collagen can be beneficial in improving the appearance of your skin.

Creams and lotions

There are many types of creams and lotions that claim to reduce or even remove stretch marks, but there is very little evidence that they actually work. Creams that have been scientifically proven to work are tretinoin creams and hyaluronic acid, which work best on new stretch marks.

Laser treatments

Laser treatments have been proven to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. However, these can be costly and time-consuming, as multiple appointments are necessary and they aren’t suitable for a larger surface area.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion removes a very thin layer of skin from the surface, revealing the smoother, non-stretch marked skin underneath. This can be quite a long and expensive process.

Taking collagen supplements is a great way of reducing the risk of developing stretch marks and can minimise their appearance. It is both easy to consume and doesn't require any complicated procedures. At Kollo Health, we sell a variety of collagen supplements. Our Kollo Premium Liquid Collagen tastes great and it could have a positive impact on your skin, so what are you waiting for? See our full selection at Kollo Health.
